Room in a shared flat

Hello! We live in a super centrally located 84 m² apartment in Kreis 6 – directly behind the Dynamo, only two minutes from the Letten. The room would be available from September to the end of November, and by arrangement also until the end of February, and costs 1290 CHF/month. We are looking for someone our age who is interested in a shared apartment (not a Zweck-WG:) About us: Joachim (39) has been in Zürich for almost a year but has already settled in well – mainly thanks to our house community on the fourth floor, with whom we often do things together. He works as a train measurement engineer in Winterthur and enjoys spending his free time hiking, snowboarding, at the gym, or making pasta from scratch. You might also find him relaxing on the couch with a Netflix series or with friends at festivals and in the city. Nadine (29) works in social science research at ETH and in accessibility consulting at the Uni Zürich. She is also currently finishing her Master's in Political Science at the UZH and is involved in various socio-political projects. In her free time, she enjoys long cycling trips through Europe, dog sitting, currently rather rarely doing sports (cycling, snowboarding, hiking), or she takes care with dedication of the many plants that turn the shared living room into a jungle. As a new hobby, she has taken it into her head to join the volunteer fire department, and sometimes you can also find her with knitting gear or a series marathon on the sofa. We have a family garden in Hirslanden, where you are welcome to get involved and use it accordingly! The location: Two minutes from the front door, the tram lines 50, 51, and 17 run. On foot, you are at the Hauptbahnhof in eight minutes. There is a beautiful winter garden that can be completely opened up to the balcony in summer and is used there as a tomato cultivation station or for baking pizza with a pizza oven. On the other side of the apartment, there is also a small balcony. The room: The room is approx. 14 m² (it looks larger in person than in the photos;) and has a small niche that a 140x200cm bed fits perfectly into. Currently, it is furnished, but it can also be taken over (partially) unfurnished. The window faces the street side with the tram, but it is quiet when the window is closed. Overall, despite the central location, the apartment is very quiet due to the good insulation. WG life: Community-oriented but uncomplicated living together is important to us. We would find it nice if our new flatmate would like to live more with each other rather than parallel to each other, also enjoying eating together, actively getting involved in the house and garden, sometimes brunching on the weekend or going on excursions, sharing groceries and circles of friends, and likewise sharing responsibility and initiative. Respectful, appreciative interaction and open communication are key to us. We do not have a fixed cleaning schedule - so far, cleaning as needed has always worked well -, but we can also adapt that. However, a clean apartment and appreciation for our home are very important to us. For those for whom it is relevant: we are a couple, both have many years of WG experience, and we consciously decide on communal living. The apartment is equally a home for everyone, in which everyone has the same rights and duties. Our current flatmate is moving in with her boyfriend, which is why we are looking for a new person. However, we have to move out of the apartment because it is to be renovated, hence the temporary rental of the room. Would you like to meet?
